An investment worth seventeen million was made towards the development of the unit and so it could increase the number of meats that are produced on a daily basis. Prior to the expansion, this particular manufacturing unit used to produce 24 thousand tons of processed meat, but after the implementation of new systems, this amount has increased to over 45 thousand tons. There is indeed a lot of growth is seen in almost all of the units that OSI Group holds, and is all part of the development program that was implemented by the company.
The expansion of the unit is not only beneficial to the company but for the people living around it as well. Though this new implementation, OSI Group has managed to create a larger pool of jobs. 20 new positions have been opened up throughout the units, thereby giving people in the community new potential opportunities that could help them. The program will also improve the technology that is used in the manufacturing units of the company. This will reduce the strain on people who had to previously manually operate the units and will also improve the efficiency and quality of the products that OSI produces.
One of the reasons why OSI Group chooses this particular plant to be the first to develop was because of the growing demand for chicken in the country. With the demand increasing, this was seen as the best opportunity to increase production and give the people exactly what they are looking for. Moreover, OSI Group anticipates that this increased demand will only witness a steady growth, which is when these developed plants will come in handy and benefit the company.
In addition to developing the machinery at the plants, the company is also working to improve the products that they make. OSI Group recently implemented a new revised kitchen in their units to properly test out and find products that people in that country would want to indulge in. This will aid the company, and allow them to add more products to the existing line that they currently offer.
