Hurricane Ike Retrospective: Damage and Aftermath

On September 12, 2008, Houston/Galveston and the Texas Gulf Coast were hit with catastrophic force by a Category 2 storm, Hurricane Ike. We created this slide show with the hope that it would inspire viewers to donate to disaster relief efforts in the Texas Gulf Coast area.

Hurricane Ike - The aftermath - Galveston Island, TX

This video shows the aftermath of Hurricane Ike on Galveston Island, TX on Saturday morning after landfall. One of the biggest threats were fires, which were almost impossible to control given the strong winds. Check out the pre-landfall surf and landfall videos on the TornadoVideos.net channel
