Hurricane Ike – Florida Keys – September 8-9, 2008

During the first week of September, 2008 Hurricane Ike tore through the islands of Turks & Caicos and Great Inagua as a category four, with sustained winds of 135mph, before making landfall on the north coast of Cuba as a strong category three, with 120mph winds. Hurricane Ike Brings 5-story Waves to Cuba

Hurricane Gustav hits US Gulf Coast – 31 Aug 08

Hurricane Gustav has already swept across the Caribbean killing over 80 people in Haiti, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. Now the storm has swelled to a Category 4 storm and the US National Hurricane Centre says it could become a Category 5. Hurricane Gustav is currently lashing Cuba and forecasters say it will cross the Gulf of Mexico and hit central Louisiana on Tuesday with the same force as Hurricane Katrina, exactly three years ago. Hurricane Gustav hits US Gulf Coast – 31 Aug 08

Hurricane Gustav has already swept across the Caribbean killing over 80 people in Haiti, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. Now the storm has swelled to a Category 4 storm and the US National Hurricane Centre says it could become a Category 5.
