November 14th, 2008 at 5:12 amThere is a lot of Hollywood in this production. A lot of it is just made up. I don’t claim to know whether he was guilty or innocent because I don’t play pseudo-expert, but a viewer should be more discerning than to take the movie at face value.

November 14th, 2008 at 5:12 amto be honest mate ive read the courtcase ive seen footage of what realy happend and this is what happend, o you think the government would let them put £True Story” and it been lies, if you are talking about that site where it says that the hurricane was guilty and shows routes of where he was meant to have gone, the website that says all that was set up by the police officers son who tried to get carter put away for life, I know all the facts.

Carter is older & smarter, but only humble as a strategy. “Rubin Carter: The Other Side Of The Story” is far more convincing than any of the pro-Carter pieces.. He didn’t serve his time: He was released on a disputed technicality & never persued a reversal of the verdict, because it would lead to him being locked up again. Carter admitted this, but attributes it to “injustice”.

I think you should be more understanding though, considering that you misread my spelling as R e u b e n. Nothing to get so angry about, and nothing that changes the fact that this ‘amazing film’ is almost 100% lies. (My source, the site I mention, is -not- Wikipedia.)

Carter’s guilty verdict is still on the books: No reversal, no ‘not guilty’, no exoneration, no aploogy from the court. He got out on a court procedural error. Even that decison was frowned on by every judge except the one who made it happen.

I guess most people get their info from the movie, the song,(Dylan should do his homework & then apologize), & the man himself. Every other source except for those 3, (court records, witnesses, physical evidence, whatever you choose), prove Carter’s guilt & violent evil dishonest nature. He’s released on a technicality, the guilty verdict still stands! He hasn’t sued because a lawsuit would once again prove his guilt.
