That was funny! Oh how true. While other kids were on the block playing basketball or other inane games, I was in my house building crystal diode radios or hammering out a chassis from a metal cracker box for my one tube 6J5 regen radio complete with toilet paper roll tickler coil.

I was never ‘geeky’, but as a kid I definitely had to take things apart to try and understand how they worked. I’m still that way now, come to think of it

Great video,this is how most hams start,me,I was curious @ 4 yra old as to why there were light bubs inside the tv,was told that these were vacuum tubes and were used as amplify signals so you could see the image on the screen and the pic came in from an antenna on the roof,WOW,Iwas hooked hi!73 de VO1XH
